VINTAGE

"These grapes make me feel nostalgic. As if I was in the feasts of the Renaissance Era, and now I try to restore in my memory the flavour, aroma, and colour of the grapes that I saw there, centuries ago, in the rays of the morning sun".

"I started visiting vineyards in Georgian villages to pick grapes. I was interested in conveying the taste and aroma of different sorts. The painting process brought me special pleasure and many childhood memories, as I grew up in the Kakheti region of Georgia, which is known for its wine-making history. I was fascinated by the way the light played with grapes and how they changed texture and aroma when exposed to the sun".

Zurab Gikashvili is ambidextrous. He paints with both hands. However, he saves his right hand only for painting.

Leonardo da Vinci was ambidextrous.

People with ambidextrousness make up only about one percent of the population.
